We have a current requirement for Revit CAD Technician to join our design function based in Glasgow on a permanent hybrid working basis. The overall purpose of the role is to provide CAD Design and Technical support within WGM for existing and future delivery of multi-disciplinary (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical/ICA), projects.  Projects span a variety of industries and sectors particularly, Water and Waste Water.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Apply Knowledge, Skills and Experience in the field of CAD Engineering and Design to provide a robust and efficient CAD capability, as part of the Technical and Design team in WGM.
  • The CAD Designer will be an integral part of a high performing team across both Glasgow and Livingston offices that will provide high quality and efficient, multi-disciplinary CAD Design services, to WGM’s various clients and internal business functions.
  • Prepare suitable CAD drawings and designs to support the work of the Projects and Operational functions of the business as well as providing technical input into projects as required. This could be any combination of Mechanical, Electrical or Civil CAD Design work
  • Apply knowledge and experience of working in a CAD/Design environment to ensure processes and procedures are adhered to from the outset and CAD standards are maintained throughout the design phase, in line with WGM’s Quality Standards and QMS
  • Provide technical support to the various business functions, which may involve site survey work as required to allow a design to be developed or to resolve a design issue
  • Be competent with 2D/3D Design packages as appropriate and applicable to the particular project and/or client design output i.e. AutoCAD, REVIT, CIVIL 3D, Navisworks
  • Have an understanding of BIM and working within a common data environment i.e Projectwise

 

To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous within CAD or design function, previous experience ideally within an engineering or construction environment would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of CAD and commercial awareness of your specialist area of engineering. Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, contractors and others involved in the design process are essential for the role.
