We are currently looking to recruit an Commissioning Engineer on a permanent basis to work within our Project division based in Glasgow. The purpose of the Commissioning Engineer role is to deliver all site-based commissioning elements associated with multi-disciplined projects, on-time to fully satisfy customer requirements, specifications, quality standards, and client acceptance criteria.

 

Main Duties

  • Assist in the production of the Commissioning Plan and update as necessary prior to commencement of commissioning.
  • Identifying and chasing any sub-contractor commissioning plans for implementation in above.
  • Provide support to the Project Managers and Project Engineers.
  • Hold Approved Person status (AP) administering the electrical safety rules (ESR).
  • Apply Permit to Work and oversee.
  • Provide sub-contractor RAMS for input to Health & Safety Files and Commissioning Plan.
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
  • Organise commissioning and co-ordination meetings.
  • Identify and organise resource requirements to deliver commissioned Plant and Equipment.
  • Attend HAZCOM meetings
  • Liaising with our suppliers and subcontractors throughout the on-site commissioning process.
  • Provide Commissioning documentation deliverables in line with client specification.
  • Report progress updates and progress issues to the Commissioning Manager/Project Manager.
  • Supervising commissioning activities of framework Sub-Contractors.

 

 

To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar Level commissioning role, you will have an excellent working knowledge of electrical wiring requirements and regulations as well as Knowledge of NEC3 Construction & Engineering Contracts. The ideal candidate must be someone who can think on their feet and possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Due to the nature of the role a valid driving licence is required as travel to various sites is a requirement of the role.
